Congratulations to Mathew Kernan (QUB) , Rachel Loughrey (UCD) , Rebecca Jane McConnell (QUB) and Mark Phelan (UCC) , joint winners of the RIAI Scott Tallon Walker Student Excellence Award for Architecture 2017.

The awards were presented at the RIAI Annual Conference in the RDS on Saturday (7th October) by RIAI President Carole Pollard and Ronan Phelan of Scott Tallon Walker.

An exhibition of all entries in the main hall created a stimulating shared forum for the discussion of student work.

The competition, now sponsored by Scott Tallon Walker Architects, is a relaunch of the RIAI Travelling scholarship award and aims to promote the study of contemporary architecture and to foster architectural excellence among the student body.

STW would like to thank the RIAI and members of the jury panel this year: Chairperson Eddie Conroy, County Architect, SDCC; Roisin Heneghan Director Heneghan Peng and Ronan Phelan, STW Director, for giving so generously of their time.
